Day Seven, NaPoWriMo

Version three, still needs some tweaking.

The Mage at Nightfall

See, I lay down my weapon, unbroken
I lie down beside it. Gazing upward
the black-blue swirls, the glittering pathway
spins from one outstretched hand to another.
The ground beneath my shoulders, cold and hard
The ground beneath me disappearing. Now
the night has sheathed us both, my sword and I
Now the power draws us out – without words,
without sound, without knowledge, it casts us,
only the fateless would think it random.
I lie down with the weapon given me
I gather the power seeping upward
I am cast to the inky galaxy
I rise and wait for the new day coming.
